Member of the Board
Are you passionate about fencing and motivated to make a real difference in an ambitious and growing club? Then this opportunity may be for you. Fægteklubben Trekanten is looking for engaged individuals who would like to join as voluntary board members and contribute actively to the club’s continued development.
About us:
Fægteklubben Trekanten is a growing association dedicated to promoting the sport of fencing and creating a positive, inclusive, and developmental environment for its members. We are a working board that takes an active role in both the day-to-day operation of the club, larger development projects, and the strategic decisions needed to secure the club’s future.
Responsibilities:
As a board member, you are expected not only to participate in the monthly board meetings, but also to contribute actively between meetings. Board work involves ongoing tasks and a shared responsibility for ensuring that the association functions well in practice. Tasks may include planning events, fundraising, member engagement, communication, coordination, and administrative work.
There are also a number of specific areas of responsibility that must be covered within the board. This means that, as a board member, you should expect to take on one or more fixed areas of responsibility, even if they do not necessarily match your primary interests. In return, you will become part of a strong team where we share the workload and support one another across responsibilities.
We place importance on new board members being willing to familiarise themselves with new IT systems and digital ways of working. Experience with Google Workspace is an advantage, as it is one of the association’s primary working tools in day-to-day board work.
Previous experience from board work, voluntary association work, or similar responsibilities is an advantage, but not a requirement. We would also be very interested to hear from you if you have experience from a professional board or other organisational settings that may be relevant to the club’s continued development.
What we offer:
- Exciting and varied tasks within the world of fencing.
- The opportunity to shape the future of the association and contribute actively to its continued growth.
- A meaningful voluntary role in a non-profit association where your efforts make a concrete difference for the members.
- Collaboration with other committed and passionate people in an ambitious and dynamic environment.
- Flexibility, including the possibility of participating in meetings online when relevant.
- A board community where we support one another and share responsibilities.
- Refreshments at in-person meetings to help create a good and comfortable working atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Interest in, and preferably knowledge of, the sport of fencing.
- Commitment and willingness to take on practical and organisational tasks in addition to attending meetings.
- The ability to work constructively, take responsibility, and collaborate with other board members.
- A willingness to learn new IT systems and work in a structured digital environment.
- Experience with Google Workspace is an advantage.
- Previous experience from board work or similar is an advantage, but not required.
If you would like to be part of an inspiring association and believe you can contribute to the work of the board, we encourage you to apply via this portal before the deadline.
After the application deadline, all candidates will be contacted with information about the next steps in the process. Selected candidates will have their candidacy presented at the association’s ordinary general meeting with the support of the board. The general meeting will then make the final decision on who is elected to the board.
We look forward to hearing from you and perhaps welcoming you to the board work of Fægteklubben Trekanten.
Fægteklubben Trekanten encourages all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of age (minimum 18 years), gender, race, religion, or disability.
